J CAN TASTE the smell of funeral flowers
              Sweet upon my lips
              Cloying with subtle musk

And feel the shadows of disremembered dead
                        Whisper against me
                        With the softness of fog

I can hear them watch as I kneel on your grave,
                        Cold with empty eyes,
                        Loud, with heavy silence,

And as I pull the vines from your marble tomb
                        They sigh with longing
                        For bitter memory
